Cambridge, UK: Kicking off London Tech Week 2016, Linguisticator and Macunx VR will host an unforgettable evening focused on the potential of VR, AR and mixed reality in education, life sciences and other non-gaming spaces. The event, collecting donations in support of the British Dyslexia Association, will be held at Barclays Rise on Monday 20th June and tickets can be reserved on Eventbrite.
The event coincides with the launch of Macunx on Kickstarter and will celebrate the best real world applications of VR being developed in the UK at the moment. Event organisers hope to inspire the wider community to think about the transformative power of immersive technology.
Macunx is a platform for building memory palaces in VR. A memory palace is essentially a mental library, a way of using spaces and images to organize information and memories. Playing to the strengths of our visual and spatial memories, Macunx will make learning and remembering things easier than ever before. With Macunx, you will be able to learn large and complex subjects – like languages, history, and anatomy – with the same ease of learning the layout of a new building.
Dr Aaron Ralby, founder of Macunx, will be presenting the new platform and discussing preliminary results from his recent trials of memory techniques with dyslexic children in Cambridge. Dr Kate Saunders, Chief Executive of the British Dyslexia Association, will give a keynote talk on dyslexia and how visual and spatial systems can aid memory.
