There are many groups promoting diversity in the workplace but there’s only one TLA Women in Tech, focused on targeting C-level change and with a truly diverse membership. Launched because we believe businesses are sabotaging their future success by not having a diverse workforce, TLA Women in Tech, London’s movement for gender equality in the workplace, isn’t just a group that talks. We actively support those in our network to ensure that gender balance is a strategic business imperative and that senior decision makers appreciate it’s important for men and women to be accountable for effecting change.

At London Technology Week 2016, TLA Women in Tech will be hosting a series of events on 20th June. About TLA Women in Tech

TLA Women in Tech is an active network of women and men working within London’s Tech industries founded by Sarah Luxford and Nikki Watkins. As London's movement for gender equality in the global tech industry, the group believes that gender balance improves commercial performance and that being a leader of tomorrow requires the courage to act differently today.

Thinking they would see a different picture in the USA, Sarah Luxford and Nikki Watkins went to California’s Silicon Valley to meet with 50 of the top women working in tech and observe diversity best practice. This highlighted that diversity continues to be a global problem in the tech industry and verified the importance of founding a movement based in London, to pursue positive change.

Nikki and Sarah have personally financed the formation of TLA Women in Tech as a not for profit gender diversity movement to liberate female talent, cultivate an inclusive culture and generate a diverse workforce. Today the group has over 1,200 Advocates (Male 30% and Female 70%) who come from corporates, tech startups, government and digital consultancies.  Our mantra is Awareness (get clear on the facts), Adoption (adopt actions & processes) and Advocacy (inspire others/pay it forward).
